Biography

Cassie Barth is the owner and freelance graphic designer for Designed by CB. While growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, she realized she wanted to have a career in graphic design during her senior year at Milpitas High School. Upon graduation, she studied for two years at De Anza Community College in Cupertino, California, taking classes involving basic design skills and photography. After earning her associates degree in Liberal Arts, she furthered her education in graphic design at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo on the Central Coast of California. Two and half years later she finished with a degree in Graphic Communication with a concentration in Design Reproduction Technologies.

While studying and working in college, she became aware of the negative ecological footprint designers left as a result of using hazardous materials, which inspired her to conduct her senior project research on sustainable graphic design techniques. Her passion for sustainability in the field of graphic design developed from her research in school and inspired her to incorporate these techniques and standards into her business. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, cooking, photography, making books, and being outdoors.
